Remembrance Day – Pray for Peace

This year, as every year, we mark Remembrance Day as a school community.

This year, our school focus for Remembrance Day has been on the enduring symbol of the poppy and the need for peace in the world.

With so many conflicts across the globe currently, every form was given a peace dove template and composed a prayer for peace or reflected on what peace means to them.

One student, Ava in Y10 wrote a beautiful poem about the need for peace…

Keep that conflict in a cage

turn life, a chapter, a whole new page

for those who have fallen fighting for rights

and to those who have witnessed inhuman sights

violence doesn’t cancel out violence they say

So why does life have to be this way?

Being there for each other is all we need

so in saying this I do plead

support others and treat them well

it’s about time we break out this shell

choose equality and kindness but most importantly

PEACE!

For all those in war torn countries or suffering… St Julie pray for them, protect them and bless them.
