Prayers for Ukraine – One year on…

Friday 24th February marked the one-year anniversary of the Invasion of Ukraine.

At 11am, a brief service was held in the chapel beginning with a prayer for peace.

Then Kira and Vlada, who both have Ukranian heritage, lit a candle as a sign of our remembrance for all those who have died and continue to suffer due to the ongoing conflict.

The service concluded with listening to a beautiful recording of the Lord’s Prayer sung in Ukranian.

Throughout the day staff and students have been invited to place a small sunflower head around the burning candle in solidarity with our Ukranian students and their families.

Sunflowers are the national flower of Ukraine as well as being associated with St Julie.
