Therese Assembly - Y11 Masterclass - Overwhelm Day Off - no chance!!!

There was another storming House assembly today, led by Nadia and Abbey from the 1804 Society!  They expertly weaved the story of St. Therese of Lisieux with everyday life which challenged all there to do small things with great heart!  I am in awe of their commitment and delivery and it was so nice to have different year groups represented in sight of their flag (orange this time).

I also got to say words that have never been said in our school before "St Maria: pray for us, protect us and bless us!"  I hope we get many more chances to reflect and pray in this way!

It was great to see the Chapel being used for so-called Y11 Masterclasses today!  (I do have an issue with that term as it implies that exceptional learning and teaching can only be experienced in the presence of a 'master'. I mean I get the historical reasons but isn't it time to find a new term?  What about Excellence Seminars!)

It was Overwhelm's Day Off today but even so members gathered to make glorious music unto the Lord!  Kim had her first go on the drums and was fab.  Kelsey and April added little embellishments and this is starting to sound like a real tight little band!  Add in the sheer enthusiasm of the singers and things are looking (and sounding) pretty good!  Lots to look forward to most especially another trip to OLA and then on 7th October - debut in the Cathedral for the Inclusive Mass!  Keep practising folks!!!
