Thoughts from the Chaplain

Friday, 21st November - lots to be thankful for!

Assemblies - present and future - and a great Y9 class!

A great day started with a chat with Mr Harvey who gave me a sneak preview of his Form (11 Dorothy) Assembly.  I don't want to give anything away but it is amazing - very moving so Y11 can look forward to that a week today.

From there, after my usual round the canteen wander, it was Mr Quinn's Form (11 Nugent) leading the assembly and they featured that wonderful moment in 1992 when Derek Redmond (400m runner) tore his hamstring in the Olympic Final and insisted on finishing - aided by his Dad who broke throughthe security cordon!  Well done - 11N and Mr Q!

The office was busy today with lots of visitors - all of whom brought a little light with them so thanks!  At lunchtime in The Chapel we had a go at the new Band Aid 30 song!

A big thanks to Mrs Cobourne's Y9 RE class who came to The Chapel for period 7 and who were marvellous.  Thanks to you all for your prayerful responses.

Have a nice weekend, be kind to everyone at home and I'll see you on Tuesday! (I'm on a course on Monday).  Keep bringing in the shoeboxes for Tuesday's deadline!
