Wed Ref - Overwhelm - 1804

One hectic day which started with Mrs Rooney's unique take on life in Wednesday Reflection.  It was superb and a lovely way to orientate myself to the day ahead.  9 Rigby led assembly today and spoke of humanitarian aid overcoming a bit of a technical issue before giving the congregation a chance to hear Beyonce sing a moving song "I was here!" which featured in Mr Quinn's Friday Sacred Time singalong last week.  Well done to all involved!

At lunchtime, some fantastic Year 7 and Year 8 students came to audition for our junior music ministry team, Overwhelm!   They'd rehearsed their choice of hymn at home and stood in front of a microphone and belted it out.  It was a real delight to hear them and it's going to be a hard decision as to who forms the team.  Music ministry is about helping people to experience God through music so it's about a whole lot more than just singing.  I am looking forward to working with them and doing something really good for the school, our local community and parishes.

After school, I went from the youngest to the oldest students in school - our 1804 Society, named after the date that the Sisters of Notre Dame were formed.  They've been working on developing more of a House identity and it was a pleasure listening to their ideas.  I have to give Nadya a name check because she had really pushed the boat out with her research! You'll hear more shortly but in the meantime, you can check out who your House is named after by going to the new Our Houses section of this website.  (Apologies to Rigby, I'm still working on your area!)
