Well, Friday's performance of Waitress was not a disappointment! Layla, Charlotte, Tara, Tilly and Lucy were superb in every respect and the supporting staff were as brilliant as ever - especially Mr Quinn who put in an extra vocal performance! It was lovely, too, to see a good crowd experience, and enjoy, their sharing of talents!
Today, I saw a little bit of the future as Megan, Daisy, Charlotte, Jennifer and Holly came to practise for the Memorial Mass for former pupils of Notre Dame, Mount Pleasant which takes place on Wednesday at the Sisters of Notre Dame convent on 266 Woolton Road. They learnt some old hymns very quickly and showed real talent!
There was another bus strike and Mrs Donohue and I were on a minibus run to Morrisons in Speke to transport some of our students. I am really impressed by the determination of our students to be in on such days bearing in mind the journeys some of them are making!
At the end of the day, some were waiting a long time for taxis in pretty inclement weather and they did so patiently and with resilience. Big shout out to Mrs Sewell and Mrs Cain who looked after them. In this week when our Mission Statement focus is Safety and Security, Mrs S and Mrs C really looked out for our students! Here's a 75 second reflection on the theme:
In the evening, I went to Our Lady of the Assumption parish to share in an event called "Unwrapping the Christmas Gift" which was fab and they've extended an invitation for some of us to go down and lead music at the masses there - so watch this space for further news if you would like to contribute and participate in this most welcoming local parish.
