Here's a video about St David (2:34).

Loving God,

we thank you for the example of St. David,

you chose to live a simple life,

and helped others whose lives were simple

not through choice but circumstances.

Help us to consider our choices

that we may live more simply

in order to make a big difference to others.

We pray this in your Holy Name. AMEN

It is everyone's job to keep other's safe!

Please consider visiting our KEEPING SAFE page!

This is a very moving video from Barnardo's (3:51). Don't forget if you, or a friend, needs help - let someone know.

REMEMBER: if you're experiencing tough times at the moment or have in the past - it's not your fault - tell someone!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Loving God,

we pray for all who are vulnerable to exploitation.

We pray for those who are in situations they feel they can't get out of.

Help us to notice the signs, offer support and report cases of exploitation.

Give us courage and wisdom to intervene appropriately.

We ask this in your Holy Name. AMEN.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY (available as a 1:00 video HERE)

Kindly Saint Joseph,

foster-father and protector of Jesus,

faithful husband of Mary,

we place before you all who are having troubles in their family life.

We implore you to ask Jesus to be with them in the struggles they face,

To give them strength and wisdom,

Patience and perseverance,

That they might come to a resolution of love, peace and joy.

We pray this in the name of the Father, and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN

Known as the 'voice of the voiceless' in El Salvador, Archbishop Oscar Romero was assassinated as he was celebrating Mass.

Here's a wonderful animated mini-biography (4:15).

A PRAYER FOR TODAY (from CAFOD)

Lord Jesus,
We give thanks for the life of
Saint Oscar Romero
who spread your message
and struggled against injustice in El Salvador.

Like you,
he was a shepherd, a pastor, a brother;
Like you, he was taken from us;
Like you, he remains in our hearts.

Spirit of hope, work within us,
just as you worked
in Saint Oscar Romero,
so that we too may work for justice
and spread the Good News,
by living out the Gospel,
in solidarity with those living in poverty.

AMEN

 Jack Tunnecliffe/CAFOD

And a hymn based on the words of Oscar Romero:

This is the day we celebrate the Angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and telling her that she is pregnant!

This video (2:49) relates the story!

It is a day when we especially pray that all pregnant women are able to rejoice and respect the new life that they nurture.

It's a good day to say the Hail Mary! (Available here as a 40 second video).

Earth Hour is a worldwide event where participants turn off all powered items at 8:30 p.m. in their own time zone.   It's an expression of willingness to be good stewards of the earth - our shared home!

It's an opportunity to enjoy a candle-lit dinner or bath or just sit and reflect with others in the darkness or with candles.

Here's a video from 2020 to help reflect on this event.

A PRAYER FOR EARTH HOUR

Creator God, we give thanks for the wonders of creation;

for the natural resources that provide us with power,

which in turn can allow development in so many areas.

For when we have not used this power responsibly - we ask forgiveness.

We pray for all working to harness the power of creation.

May they do this with compassion and sensitivity,

mindful that the earth is a home shared

with our fellow human beings and countless amazing creatures.

We pray this in your Holy Name. AMEN
