Here's a wonderful video (1:57) encouraging us to reflect on the wonders of creation.

This video (2:30) is from World Wildlife Day 2019 and it focuses on the oceans!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Loving God,

we give thanks for the wonders of creation,

especially the creatures with whom we share this planet.

Help us to be well informed, compassionate

and willing to act on their behalf.

We pray this in your Holy Name. AMEN

A ONE MINUTE PRAYER FOR WORLD BOOK DAY (Click HERE for the video version)

Loving God,

we thank you for all the books that we enjoy;

all the characters we encounter;

and the worlds and situations they help us explore.

Thank you for the people who write and produce them;

the people who read to us and the people who have helped us to learn to read!

We thank you for the Bible, the Torah, the Qu'ran and other Sacred Scriptures,

the writings you inspire where we can learn to live life in all its fullness.

AMEN

we pray for all who are vulnerable to exploitation.

We pray for those who are in situations they feel they can't get out of.

Help us to notice the signs, offer support and report cases of exploitation.

We ask this in your Holy Name. AMEN.

Earth Hour is a worldwide event where participants turn off all powered items at 8:30 p.m. in their own time zone.   It's an expression of willingness to be good stewards of the earth - our shared home!

It's an opportunity to enjoy a candle-lit dinner or bath or just sit and reflect with others in the darkness or with candles.

Here's a video from 2020 to help reflect on this event.

A PRAYER FOR EARTH HOUR

Creator God, we give thanks for the wonders of creation;

for the natural resources that provide us with power,

which in turn can allow development in so many areas.

For when we have not used this power responsibly - we ask forgiveness.

We pray for all working to harness the power of creation.

May they do this with compassion and sensitivity,

mindful that the earth is a home shared

with our fellow human beings and countless amazing creatures.

We pray this in your Holy Name. AMEN

A special day and here's a video about what NOT to say (3:57) to someone living with autism!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY (HERE as a 1:00 video)

Loving God,

bless all who see the world through autism,

and all who celebrate the richness of diversity.

Help us, O Lord, to see your image

reflected in all of our differences.

May we recognise the unique gifts we each have to offer the world.

We pray this in your Holy Name.  AMEN
