Music and Worship with Y10

Y10 GCSE RE classes spent their lesson today in the chapel, learning about worship music within the Catholic Church.

From plain chant, to traditional organ hymns and finally contemporary music, we covered the rich history of Catholic worship music and discussed the benefits and drawbacks of each style for a worshipper today.

But as I reminded them all, it’s not a case of choosing one style over the over, each has its role within the Mass and has relevance!
