Part of our Live Simply Plan is to stand in solidarity with those who suffer injustice and are in desperate need. During daily Sacred Time, students will learn about the effects that war and climate change are having on global hunger.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" src=\"http:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/images-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7460 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In particular, we will look at how multinational seed companies are dominating how seeds are distributed to farmers, so that (predominately female) farmers have less variety in what they produce, little control of the market price and are subject to stricter laws determined by governments on what they can grow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"283\" height=\"178\" src=\"http:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/images-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7458 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">This&nbsp;is good for big business profits&nbsp;but not so good for the&nbsp;farmers who grow&nbsp;the majority of&nbsp;the world\u2019s food.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 31%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" src=\"http:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/email-world-bank-QR-code.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7451 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/email-world-bank-QR-code.png 320w, https:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/email-world-bank-QR-code-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/chaplaincy.stjulies.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/email-world-bank-QR-code-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We&nbsp;need&nbsp;the UK government to use its voice at the World Bank&nbsp;to create a&nbsp;more sustainable and supportive environment for farmers.&nbsp;So,&nbsp;CAFOD&nbsp;ask us to support their &#8216;FIX THE FOOD SYSTEM&#8217; campaign.
