Remembrance Wall Appeal 2022

A Remembrance Day Ceremony for all students will take place in school on 11th November at 11am.

Last year, we focused in particular on the experience of women both on the home front and the front line.

This year, our 1804 Society are encouraging us to remember friends and those in our own families who have served in the Armed Forces, lived through armed conflict and those who continue to serve and make daily sacrifices for our protection.

So, as part of our Remembrance Day, we would like to create a Digital Remembrance Wall.

We are inviting you to send in a copy of a photograph of your loved one, including:

  • their name (and Regiment/Division etc. if known)
  • when and where they served/ are serving
  • 1 or 2 sentences briefly explaining why you are grateful to them
  • include your (child’s) name, if you are happy to

Throughout the school day on 11th November, we will be projecting these images on our large school projectors, so that we can keep them in our prayers and give thanks for them.

Please email any contributions to our Chaplain at jwallace@stjulies.org by 9th November.

An example of what is required can be found below. Thank you.

“My Uncle Al never spoke much about the war and lived with shrapnel in his head for the remainder of his life. I’m so grateful that he sacrificed those late teenage years to fight for freedom. I’m also grateful that he was recognised in the UK and by France before he died, for his contribution at such a young age. RIP”
