Christmas Cards to The Holy Land
Category: Chaplaincy | Date: Dec 5, 2016
St. Julie’s pupils and staff have been writing some very special Christmas cards over the last week or so as part of the Liverpool Archdiocese Justice and Peace Commission Christmas Cards Campaign.
The cards, all of which were designed by pupils, have been sent to parishes in The Holy Land – Bethlehem, Jerusalem and beyond.
Christians are a minority group in The Holy Land and Bethlehem, in particular, is a troubled place so it was good to send greetings as an expression of our solidarity with those for whom the reality is far removed from the words of Christmas carols which suggest peace and tranquility.
Greetings were sent in both English and Arabic and we also explained a little about what life was like at St. Julie’s.
We wish all who receive them a happy and holy Christmas!
