Welcome to St. Julie's Catholic High School Chaplaincy

Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows

Date: Sep 15, 2018 10:30:00
Details:

Most images of Mary seem to present her as someone who is serene and unblemished.   Yet Mary went through many hardships which must have caused her sorrow:

finding herself pregnant before she was married (a shameful situation in those days);

giving birth in some kind of animal shelter far from home;

losing her son, Jesus, for three days when he was twelve

and then all the trauma of seeing him leave home, become famous, become a target for hatred and eventually suffering torture and death!

Let's pray for all who are sad this day for whatever reason.

Let's pray for eyes and ears that notice when others are sad.

Let's pray for the courage to reach out and that we might find the right words and actions that might bring comfort.

St. Julie: pray for us, protect us and bless us.
