First Friday - citius, altius, fortius!

Well, we may not have been so many at First Friday - Hymns Old and New today as in the Royal Albert Hall in yesterday's blog post, but we raised the roof singing To God Be The Glory!  Thanks to all who joined in so wholeheartedly especially Mrs Mannings for choosing our hymns.  The newer hymn was quite beautiful - Lord, You Have Come to the Seashore - and the musicians played it brilliantly and sensitively.  They really are a special blessing to our school.  If you've never been to First Friday, why come along and just be part of a really spiritual experience.

Straight after First Friday, it was off to Wavertree in support of our athletes who were magnificent all day.  Not everyone won their event but everyone was a winner because they did their best without exception.  As it turned out, Years 7, 8 and 9 won becoming Liverpool Schools Champions!  I was bursting with pride and Mrs Hardiman and Miss Rainey deserve much praise for the way they coach and encourage (and nag, sometimes) our athletes to go out there and give it their best.  I won't name any particular athletes for fear of leaving others out but I will point out that our relay teams really aced it.
