Wed Ref - moon - Music lesson
Wednesday Reflection centred on the link between the images below:

And the connection is:

MOON

Why? Because they have all sung songs with 'moon' in the title.

The Police - Walking on the Moon
R.E.M. - Man on the Moon
Frank Sinatra - Fly me to the Moon
The Marcels - Blue Moon

Here's the oldest of those songs (2 mins 30 secs):
What a brilliant song and arrangement!

The moon is a wonderful thing and I love walking along a beach early in a morning when no-one else has trodden on it.  I wonder if you've ever done that.  If not, you should!   All the footprints from the previous day have gone.  Today, Wednesday Reflection participants thought about that and each person was invited to come forward and write in a tray of sand either a word or symbol relating to a situation for which they need healing or a memory cleansing.  They then smoothed it over conscious that Jesus is the great forgiver who doesn't want us burdened by the past.   It was really special!

Today was also the anniversary of D-Day when tens of thousands of allied troops had a very different beach experience on the day that they started the invasion of Western Europe to claim it back from the occupying German army.  We ow them and all our armed forces over the years a great debt.  For our today, they gave their tomorrow!

After break, it was another Music and Worship lesson with Year 9 who were fantastic - even more responsive than yesterday's group!  What a privilege it was to spend time with them!
