Good day, it was - Friday First - Awards

May the fourth be with you on Star Wars Day!

I remember seeing the original Star Wars movie (it's actually number 4 in the series, but they've come out in a rather strange order over the years) when it came out in 1977 at the Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road when I was working in London!  It made a deep impression on me especially when the Empire's battle cruiser seemed to fly in over my head right at the beginning of this struggle between good and evil.  No doubt, I'll be at a cinema near me again when the next one comes out.  Can't wait!  This one's about Han Solo and Chewbacca!

This morning it was First Friday - Hymns Old and New and thanks to all who came along.  Special thanks to Overwhelm who are coming along great!  They really smashed Let the Spirit come down:

I think it's one we should have a go at as a school over the next year.

After a hectic tidy-up, it was off to the Archdiocesan Awards Ceremony.  We'd been shortlisted for the Spirituality in our School Award - the only secondary school!   We didn't win but had a good afternoon.  Mrs Delaney and Bridie Nesbitt-Scott (Serving the good God Award winner) accompanied me!

Talking of awards, congratualtions to all those who received nomination letters over the last two days!  To be nominated for Awards Evening is something special and you and your family should be really proud of what you've done to get noticed!

Anyway, a busy day but a long weekend to look forward to!
