Foundation Day

Hot on the heels of Awards Evening, we celebrated Foundation Day today!  The Sisters of Notre Dame came to Liverpool on 28th March, 1851 but we were on holiday this year on that date, so we had a slightly late celebration of this event!   Happily, we were joined by some of the current sisters who live at 266 Woolton Road!  Their presence is always very appreciated in our school!

Foundation Day was brilliant - all the performers were ace!  Faye and Maddie danced so evocatively about the loss of a dear friend.  Anna and Evie sang the song For Good from Wicked about the impact of friendship and the Year 8 Dance Team performed to You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray.  All their performances interspersed with the narrative of the history of the Sisters of Notre Dame, focusing on the relationship between St. Julie and her friend, Francoise.  Millie and Jess filmed this amazing dialogue:

All the readers were great and Overwhelm did a splendid job - singers, musicians and technicians all excelling.  Year 7 and 8 came in beautifully and joined in heartily with the singing and clapping.

Bishop Tom was visiting us today and spoke of his own family connections with the Sisters of Notre Dame.

All in all a great day!  Thansk to all involved with a special mention for the Premises Staff who set up and tidied the Sports Hall.
