Following on from yesterday's blog, the answer is an emphatic "YES!" First Friday - Hymns Old and New was very well attended, boosted by the presence of the Drama Company (more of them later) and the 1804 Society.
Overwhelm were superb with singers, instrumentalists Kelsey and Emily and sound engineers doing a super job!
Megan introduced the hymns brilliantly, relating how one of them was special because it reminded her of a lady she had met in Lourdes called Margaret!
Megan also linked her choices to the anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur on this day in 1804 and it was really lovely to have Sister Margaret SND, our chair of governors, with us.
There was then a quick dash up to 11 Nugent to join them for Sacred Time - a lovely time of reflection on the founding of the sisters - a time enhanced by Mrs Gee giving us all the chance to be silent and listen to what's in our own hearts - precious moments in the busyness of the day!
Then it was off to Liverpool in the minibus with the Drama Company. They were rehearsing at the Epstein Theatre for the NOW Festival (which is a celebration of mental health). I went back in the evening to see the event and our girls were just amazing. The piece they devised and performed was so moving and uplifting. So well done to all of them and to Miss Douglas and other members of staff who supported them along the way!
Here's the song they sang:
When the video of their performance is available I'll signpost it for you!
