Y7 Assembly - Quiz - Overwhelm

Year 7 assembly featured clips from A Bug's Life (Mr Alderman's favourite film) and it contained an excellent message - that there are far more people who make good and kind choices in the world than there are those who make wicked decisions.   We are stronger together and tyrants and bullies can be overcome if we stand together.  I know this can be very hard but people have done it in the past - Martin Luther King, Mohindas Gandhi and Jesus!  They spoke up and though it may not have seemed like a victory at the time, history records that they made a difference.  St. Julie did the same when she stood up to some influential people in the Catholic Church and here we are today.

This is the prayer that completed the assembly:

Loving God, we thank you that we are part of the Worldwide Body of Christ;

We thank you that there are so many more good people in our world than bad;

Help us always to stand up for what is right;

That we, like St. Julie in her time, can make a difference.

We pray this in the name of the Father,

and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit.  AMEN.

St. Julie: pray for us, protect us and bless us.

I came across a quiz today and wondered if you'd like to have a go at it:

I'm ashamed to say I only got 3 questions right but I do feel better informed, and a bit shaken, as a result.

The process for selecting our new junior Music Ministry Team moved on with 14 applications coming in which is great considering the only publicity was a poster.  Auditions will take place tomorrow and Friday and auditionees can sing either My Lighthouse or Qu'il est bon!  Backing tracks are available on the Overwhelm section of this website.
