FF- HON - Y8 Assembly and stars - Saying goodbye

Friday the 13th - what could possibly go wrong?????

Actually it was a quite marvellous day which started with Miss Sutton leading us in First Friday - Hymns Old and New.  The chosen hymns were Be thou my vision and In Christ alone and those who gathered played and sang gloriously, aided by the super acoustics in the Teamtalk area near the statue of St. Julie.

Miss Bennett then led assembly for Y8 and it was great as ever.  This is a super year group!

A trio of these Y8 stars, Emilia, Jessica and Erin have been to see me and are planning a Halloweeen Bake Off!  So watch out for news of this fundraising event for Cancer Research.  They've chosen this charity because one of their dads is involved in helping patients with cancer in the eye!  It's brilliant to see them show this entrepreneurial spirit!  So let's make sure we encourage and support them.  Get those thinking caps on and decide what you might bake!

Two other Y8 students - Ella and Rachel - have been to see me about their Sacred Time.  They are leading it next Wednesday and were asking what St. Julie's Words of the Week were going to be.   I hear what they're going to be on a Thursday usually when Sr Kristin from the Sisters of Notre Dame Virtual School sends materials through.  It's really lovely tying in with our sister schools around the world who get the same e-mail and use the same words of St. Julie for each week.  We most definitely are not alone!

Anyway, I'll report back on the Sacred Time visit next week!

The Words of St. Julie, by the way, are:

"If you find in your heart a constant desire to belong to God, whatever it may cost, all is well.  Be at peace!"

Today was also a day of saying goodbye to Mrs Bates who was leaving for a new and exciting chapter in her professional life working in a primary school.  She has seen lots of children through this school in her various duties over the years - most recently in the Main Office.  We wish her well!
