Another brilliant day! This morning, I had the opportunity to pop into some Forms to ask them to write Christmas cards to send to Holy Family Parish in Gaza. The Gaza is a troubled part of the world and how ironic that in the very region where Jesus, the Prince of Peace, was born two thousand years ago, there is anything but peace. About a million people live in Gaza but only about 5,000 are Christians so they can feel pretty isolated so it's great to send them a message so they know they are not alone. There are some more cards available - all designed by our Y7 pupils - so if you and your class want to participate, let me know!
Later in the morning, there was a music practice for tonight's concert which is going to be great. It was lovely to see and take part in the rehearsal. At lunchtime, I had the chance to accompany the Intermediate Choir, Mrs Newton, Mr Quinn and Mr Pearson to Tesco where the choir performed a selection of Christmas songs. They were very well received and the good people of Woolton were most generous in supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care.
In the evening, we had a fantastic Christmas Concert. There were so many highlights: both choirs, our narrators, the soloists, fab musicians, superb dancing by both the younger ones and Chloe and Emma - but my favourite bit was the 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza by the 6th Form Drama Group. Girls (and boys) you were all great but what a lot of staff were there supporting you as well. It was the best Christmas Concert I've ever been too!
Tomorrow, we are having an Advent Service for staff so if anyone is willing to participate in any way, please let me know!
