Week and Easter Service"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Thank you to all those involved in our services today &#8211; all who shared their gifts through singing, reading, carrying symbols of Holy week and technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using clips from animated Lego, we followed the story of Holy Week and were reminded of the hope that we all have in the risen Jesus at Easter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was also lovely to have Fr Stephen Pritchard with us to give us a final blessing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wishing you all a very happy and holy Easter season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text Week begins when Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem on a donkey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He is greeted like a hero.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus shares a final meal with his friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus washes the feet of his disciples to show them they should not be afraid to lower themselves and serve others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus tells them that he gives them a new rule to live by&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;love one another as I have loved you&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Judas strikes a deal with the Chief Priests and agrees to lead them to Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Judas<\/strong> <strong>arrives at the Garden with the guards and turns Jesus over to them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Good Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus is taken to Pontius Pilate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus is condemned to die in a painful and humiliating way &#8211; crucifixion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus is made to carry his own cross and is crucified with two thieves, one on either side.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At the third hour, Jesus breathes his last and dies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Easter Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jesus has died.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He lies in a tomb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>His friends are afraid and go into hiding<\/strong>, <strong>feeling alone, scared and confused<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In secret, they mourn the loss of Jesus.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide
