Thank you to all those involved in our services today – all who shared their gifts through singing, reading, carrying symbols of Holy week and technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using clips from animated Lego, we followed the story of Holy Week and were reminded of the hope that we all have in the risen Jesus at Easter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also lovely to have Fr Stephen Pritchard with us to give us a final blessing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wishing you all a very happy and holy Easter season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lent is a time of preparation for the highlight in the Christian calendar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a time to admit where we have gone wrong and made mistakes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a time to renew our commitment to God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Palm Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holy Week begins when Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem on a donkey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is greeted like a hero.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Maundy Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus shares a final meal with his friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus washes the feet of his disciples to show them they should not be afraid to lower themselves and serve others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus tells them that he gives them a new rule to live by…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“love one another as I have loved you”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judas strikes a deal with the Chief Priests and agrees to lead them to Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judas<\/strong> arrives at the Garden with the guards and turns Jesus over to them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Good Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus is taken to Pontius Pilate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus is condemned to die in a painful and humiliating way – crucifixion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus is made to carry his own cross and is crucified with two thieves, one on either side.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the third hour, Jesus breathes his last and dies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easter Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus has died.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He lies in a tomb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His friends are afraid and go into hiding<\/strong>, feeling alone, scared and confused<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In secret, they mourn the loss of Jesus.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 days after his crucifixion, Jesus rises from the tomb!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
