Pope Benedict XVI died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 95<\/a>, almost a decade after he stood down because of ill health. Benedict XVI became the first Pope to resign in 600 years in 2013, citing ailing health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His last words are reported to be, “Jesus, I Love you!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His successor, Pope Francis will preside at Pope Benedict’s funeral on Thursday 5th January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We pray for the soul of Pope Benedict and that that he will now receive his eternal reward in Heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give him the reward of eternal happiness in your kingdom, united forever with your saints.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
