Words of St. Julie – week beginning 25.11.19

We are in the middle of a General Election campaign and political parties are publishing their manifestos. A manifesto is a summary of what the party promise to do if elected. Not all manifestos are actually lived out!

Maybe you know someone who doesn’t always deliver on promises. How does that make us feel? I’m guessing undelivered/broken promises lead to feelings of disappointment and maybe even anger.

St. Julie advises us to focus not on promises but on our efforts. Some people do talk a good game – but it is more important to ‘walk the talk’. So the challenge this week is to ‘walk the talk’. As Jesus said: “Let your yes be yes and your no mean no!”

Loving God, help us to live up to promises we make.

Help us to forgive those who let us down.

Help us to use words wisely so we don’t over promise.

We pray this in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN

St. Julie: pray for us, protect us and bless us.
